The Pre-Entry Test (PET) is an entrance exam conduct by SCERT Assam for admission into the two-year D.El.Ed program. It tests a candidate’s aptitude, general awareness, language skills, and reasoning abilities to ensure they have well knowledge for the teaching profession.

Mode of Exam – Offline OMR based.

Total Marks – 100

Duration – 2 hours

Type of Questions – Multiple Choice Questions based.

Language of Paper – Multiple language.

Syllabus Include –

The syllabus is divided into 2 parts –

Section I – Total mark is 50 Marks

Section I include the followings subjects –

1.English Language Proficiency –

  • Vocabulary and grammar (synonyms, antonyms, prepositions, etc.)
  • Reading comprehension
  • Sentence formation and error correction

2.Mathematics –

  • Number system
  • Basic arithmetic (fractions, percentages, ratio)
  • Geometry and measurement
  • Word problems and logical calculations

3.Environmental Science –

  • Natural resources
  • Ecosystems and pollution
  • Food, health, and hygiene
  • Our surroundings and social environment
